An update? What a strange idea...

So, Christmas came and went. Jade was thrilled with the idea that her friend Santa and her friends the penguins and the reindeer were coming to visit. All Quentin wanted was black Spiderman (not Venom! - that's too scary, maybe next year - his words) and the Woody movie. After much, much searching by Santa for the Spiderman, he got them.

I spent three weeks working as a Physics teacher at Riverside in January. Now, I'm back at the lovely Fox. But, what am I teaching? English 9, Science 10, Math 11E and Tech Ed Work Experience 12 (soon). You want a diverse teaching load, or what? I am enjoying using both sides of my brain again. The running around the school and having far to travel if I forget a piece of paper isn't thrilling, but hey, then nobody can find me!

Tyler wrapped up his last test for his first 'year' of schooling for his electrical apprenticeship. He's in the top 3 or 4 of his class and tutored about half of it. I'm so incredibly proud of him!

Quentin is super-excited about going to Kindergarten. We signed him up last month. He's also going to be in an after/before-school program that takes him to swimming lessons, gymnastics and skating throughout the year. *sigh* My little boy is growing up.

Jade has the eloquence that her brother had at this age. Her enunciation is marvellous and her vocabulary is well beyond the average two year old. She's very compassionate. I'm a little worried about how she'll take to not spending all day every day with her brother next year, but I'm sure she'll be busy taking care of the babies at daycare to not be too put off by it.

We won a contest last week. One of the local radio stations had a contest for its loyal listeners who earn points by listening and visiting their website. I dumped every point I could get my hands on into it (both from my account and Tyler's - but don't get me wrong, I put almost every point INTO Tyler's account too!) and we won $10 000 in gift cards at a local grocery store. With my sporadic employment and Tyler being in school for twenty weeks this year and next year, this is almost a necessity and we are incredibly thrilled to have won. Tyler just picked up the cards today and we went off for our first shopping trip with them. We spent a little more than we normally would!

I think that works for our update. The digital camera hasn't worked since around the time of my last entry, and I just haven't taken it in to get fixed yet, so there aren't any pics to post. My apologies.

Hope all is well with all of you.

It's great to hear from you again- your teaching load gets more diversified every time I hear about it! $10,000 as in ten thousand dollars? WOW!!!
