Jade E.'s Two!
Note: Thought I'd add these on the birthday post, because they seem to fit for some reason...scroll down, there's another added at the bottom of the post!
Friday I used my professional day to take the kids to the Aquarium. Lots of rain, lots of people, but I think the three of us had a great time. Quentin tried the sour cream and onion cricket, and immediately spat it out, but we all tried the cheesey mealworm. (They had bugs for people to try as part of their Halloween theme...in case you hadn't guessed.) Both kids like the mealworm...I thought it was hollow and nothing worth eating.
If you ask Jade how old she is, she'll respond that she's five years old. If you didn't know her very well, you might almost believe that. She's got an expansive vocabulary like her brother. She's supposed to be starting to string together three word sentences...that was shortly after her first birthday, I think, because the sentences she has now are much larger than three words. Her favourite gifts so far are the Dora bed (thank you Granny), giant Dora colouring book, large pink unicorn and the old-style Fisher Price cash register. You remember it, it has three different sized coins, a cash drawer and the change slot out the side. Actually, both kids love it. And, to be fair, she squealed "Mermaid" quite loudly and happily when she opened the Little Mermaid DVD. LOL, okay, she really didn't get much more than that-a couple more movies and a soft dragon puppet that she also likes, so I guess my point is that we chose well this year! :)
Ran into trouble with all three camera options this morning (memory card messing up, dead battery in the film camera, and full memory on the camera phone), but somehow did manage to get some good pics, so I'll post those sometime soon. I'm actually working this week so I don't have oodles of time. I know, I'm shocked too.
Jade's sleeping in Quentin's room now. They've been excited about the prospect of sharing a room for quite some time, and now we have a bed we don't have to worry about her rolling out of so we're trying it out. Jade adores her big brother, and Quentin hates to be alone. We'll see how long it lasts.
Take care all.
Jade in May. She's changed a little, still adorable though!

I love that cash register, brings back some great childhood memories!
Tried to leave a comment days ago and had trouble- just thought I'd say congratulations! Sounds like a lovely day though I can imagine you have your hands full!
