Snow
The sky is nicely lit by the reflections off the snow. I just measured and we received well over six inches of snow today. That meant a giant snowball in the front yard, a little snowman in the backyard (the thought of having a snowman be knocked over like last year in the front yard is too painful, so we are only going to build them in the backyard now, although Quentin was afraid someone will climb over the fence just to knock it down), some sledding on the sled we happened to purchase last Monday, and the driveway being shovelled twice - not that you can currently tell.
Jade enjoyed the snow. Quentin loves the snow. Being on the sled was one of the most wonderful things I think he's experienced, from his reaction. Jade enjoyed the sled too, until Quentin decided he liked falling off of it, and that meant taking her with him and pretty much landing on her. Not so fun for Jade.
I signed off of work tomorrow, the children will not be going to daycare, and Tyler's walking to work. There are just too many people who don't know how to drive in the snow that will be trying to whether schools are open or not. No sense tempting fate.
Love and snowballs to you all.
Voice to spare? Anyone?
All week I've been a TOC for Chem 12 and Math 11 and LOVED it. The students were generally wonderful. (One of them even tried to get everyone to give me a group hug as it was my last day today.) The only real problem? I haven't had a voice for the last two days. Not so easy to instruct when one cannot be heard. Everyone in the house has this...although Jade barely has a whisper of a cough due to those antibodies she ingests everyday. Okay, I'm the only one without a voice...the boys just have the accompanying coughs.
Jade has been walking, no more that a few steps at a time but we're not rushing her. She has another tooth, but it's not the eye tooth (which should be next in line), it's a very pointy molar behind it. Go figure. Her favourite words right now are 'hat,' 'tap tap tap' (the title of a story which is repeated throughout the story), and 'wolf.'
Quentin has named his ghost (the one he was going to carry when he was a pumpkin for Halloween, then left it at daycare that day...but he had the ghost basket anyways). His frog with red eyes he named "Red Eye" so are we surprised his ghost is named "Eyebrow"?
The bathroom is primed, and the ceiling is painted. I was going to paint the walls this week, but got that call to work all week as the teacher went to spend time with his newest son. I wasn't going to say no. Next week...if I can move. Then we get a toilet installed! Yay!
Heading to the island very, very early in the morning and I need to iron and pack. Take care.
Belated b-day pics
Jade enjoyed opening her presents. If you look closely at the one with the big orange/green/many colours toy, you'll see there's a little blue thing under Jade's right ear. That is a pretend phone on the toy that she is making a call on.
Her birthday cake was made out of a layer of cherry jello, and a layer of raspberry jello mixed with whipped cream, decorated with whipped cream. She wasn't feeling all that fabulous that day, and I thought jello was something her tummy could handle. I was right. I think you can tell she enjoyed it!
